3 Arraigned for Laying Ambush on Monarch

     Three men were on Wednesday, 27 November 2019, arraigned before the magistrate court sitting in Oshogbo for laying ambush on a king.

     Fatumbi Olumuyiwa (50), Kola Aderbigbe(40), Oyewole Yomi(47) who appeared before magistrate Olusegun Ayilara were charged on two-count bordering on breach of peace and laying of ambush.

     The accused persons were said to have laid ambush on Ologboaaga  of Ogbaaga, Oba Ekanaade Ajani Amusan, the king of a town in Gbongan local government .

      According to the details of the charge, the offense was committed sometimes in the month of December 2018 at Alabe Olomu village in Oshogbo, Osun state.

     The offense was said to be contrary and punishable under section 517, 81 of the criminal code cap 34 vol. 11 laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.

     The accused persons pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to them.

      Magistrate Ayilara asked the reason why the case was not charged to Gbongan Magistrate Court as it is within Gbongan magisterial district. The defense counsel, Taofeek Oyetunji explained that the king give them order to charge the accused persons to Oshogbo magistrate court because,the offence was committed in osogbo, and applied bail on a most liberal terms for his client.

The police prosecutor added that the king ordered them to Oshogbo magistrate court in order to save his life. He Continued that there was a case at Gbongan magistrate court in which the accused were involved.

      The magistrate however committed the accused person into bail in the sum of N200,000 with one surety in like sum

       He transferred the case to Gbongan magistrate court to be mention on December 23, 2019.
