14 People Confirm Dead, 22 People Critically Injure in Bek Aeroplane Crash

Fourteen people are confirmed dead and 22 people critically injured after a plane carrying 98 people crashed in Kazakhstan on Friday.

While confirming the accident, Kazakhstan's aviation agency said the Bek Air plane crashed shortly after takeoff.

According to a statement from Kazakhstan's Civil Aviation Committee, the plane was air-route  Kazakhstan's capital, Nur-Sultan, when it "lost altitude during takeoff and broke through a wall before hitting a two-storey building.

Images posted on social media showed several rescue personnel digging through the wreckage of the Bek Air aircraft.


All Bek Air flights in Kazakhstan have been suspended pending the investigation of the crash, the country's authorities said.
