If Hate Speech Bill Promises To Hang Buhari First, I will Support it - Femi Fani-Kayode

Former minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode said he can only support the controversial Hate Speech Bill if the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari is the first victim of the bill.

The bill seeks to prevent speeches that will bring about ethnic crisis and attack against personalities. A person find guilty of the provisions of the bill may face a death sentence.

Critics believe that the bill would gag freedom of information and expression in Nigeria.

Fani Kayode who is one of the critics of the bill said; "I will support the Hate Speech Bill if its provisions are made retroactive & if its first victims are Buhari, Bola Tinubu, Lai Mohammed, Nasir El Rufai, Festus Keyamo & Rotimi Amaechi.

"Promise to hang them first for their hateful words over the years & the Bill gets my support."
