Akinrosoye Abiodun Idowu was born on the 30th of December, 1970 into the family of Mr and Mrs  Akinrosoye. He hails from Omo_Ijesa, Oriade Local Government, Osun State.

Abiodun started his academic journey at Ado  Odo High School from 1984 to 1990 where he obtained his Senior Secondary School Certificate. Afterwards, he moved to Ogun State Polytechnic, Abeokuta in the year 1992 to 1998 where he reached the apotheosis of excellence having graduated as the overall best student in the Department of Mass Communication during his National and Higher National Diploma programmes.

In the course of his academic voyage, he holds Master Degrees in Managerial Psychology (MMP) from the prestigious University of Ibadan in 2006, Masters in Communication Art from the same university in 2009, Masters of Art in Mass Communication at the Olabisi Onabanjo  University Ago-Iwoye in the year 2014.

In his quest also to become a crème de la crème in the field of Communication, he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication in 2015 from Crescent University, Abeokuta. He is about to complete his Doctorate program in Mass Communication at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye.

The flight of Idowu’s professionalism started in AM Newspaper Lagos in the year 1995 and paused in 1996. It kicked off again when he answered the clarion call to serve his nation which he did at 'The News Magazine', where he worked as a reporter and researcher from 1998 to 1999. He was a reporter and researcher for 'Tempo Magazine' from 1999 to 2000. He was also a news correspondent reporting happenings around Oyo, Osun and Ogun State from 2000 to 2001, and rose to the level of a senior correspondent between the year 2002 to 2004.

Akinrosoye became the Executive Officer, Public Relations of the Osun State College of Technology, Esa Oke in the year 2004 to 2005. The young dynamic Akinrosoye joined  Osun State Polytechnic, Iree in March 2005 as a Technologist in the Department of Mass Communication to teach the practical aspect of the Mass Communication courses and also performed other administrative responsibilities. After earning higher qualifications, he was converted to a lecturer chief cadet.

In 2008 to 2009, he served as the Public Relations Officer of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Osun State Polytechnic, Iree chapter. At a point, he was appointed the coordinator of the Daily Part-Time Programme, a position he held for three sessions before his appointment in 2016 as Acting Head of the Department of Mass Communication. Ever since his appointment, Akinrosoye has continued to build a cordial relationship with his colleagues and his students.

His service to the Polytechnic community cannot be wished away; some of such include membership of Editorial Board Iree Journal of Science, Technical and Management Studies; the Secretary of Conference Committee, Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (FICT) Osun State Polytechnic Iree; also Editorial Board Member, Journal of Information and Communication Technology (JICOT ), Osun State Polytechnic, Iree.

He is a member of a series of professional bodies such as  Nigerian Union of Journalists  (NUJ ), Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and A member of Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria  (ASCON).

As a prolific writer, he has written various journals, books and conference papers which remains awestruck achievements.

Without more ado, Akinrosoye is a Mentor, Role Model, Instructor, academic juggernaut, academic virtuoso, academic polymath, academic avatar, academic zeugma, pragmatic homo sapiens.

He is adroit and stern in his approach to the tutelage of his students. His lecture room management is top-notch as there are no dull moments in his class;  he maintains a great and fantastic camaraderie with his students - without any sugar-coating, he doubles as a great teacher and lecturer.

It is no gainsaying that the young academia has instilled on all students who passed through the four walls of the department, confidence to stand boldly with their counterparts in other institutions. This is evident in the records of his students making waves in the media world.
