Donald Trump Dropped From US List of Presidential Delegation to World Economic Forum

The United State of America has dropped its embattled President, Donald Trump from the list of the country's presidential delegates to the World Economic Forum.

Trump did not attend last year’s edition due to a government shutdown in Washington, and there has been speculation as to whether he could skip this year’s forum due to impeachment proceedings.

Meanwhile, Treasury Secretary, Steven Mnuchin is listed as the leader of the delegation in a statement from the White House but there are speculations that Trump may insist on attending the annual forum.

The 50th edition of the Forum will commence from 21-24 January 2020 in Davos, Switzerland. The Meeting’s theme will be Stakeholders for a Cohesive and Sustainable World.

It will bring together 3,000 participants from around the world, and aim to give concrete meaning to “stakeholder capitalism”, assist governments and international institutions in tracking progress towards the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals, and facilitate discussions on technology and trade governance.
