Gas Pipeline on Fire in Lagos [Videos]


The gas pipeline at the Ile-Epo/Abule-Egba axis of Lagos state is currently on fire, according to an eyewitness report. The fire outbreak started at about 8:30 PM on Sunday, January 19, 2020.

The raging inferno has the residents of the area panicking and trooping out of their houses.

It reportedly started from the Pipeline after Iyana Ipaja, spread to Ekoro road, and as at the last update, it has extended to Akinola Aboru area of the state.

According to eyewitness reports, the fire is burning down whatever stands on its way including cars and houses. It has reportedly burnt down over 200 houses and scores are feared death so far in the raging inferno.

The cause of the fire outbreak has not been ascertained but it was allegedly caused by pipeline Vandals.

As at 9:45 pm, no emergency services were on the ground to put the fire under control. The people of the community have taken their fate into their own hands to salvage the situation.
