JAMB Suspends the Use of NIN for 2020 UTME Registration

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has suspended the use of the National identification Number (NIN) for the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration.

This was disclosed in a press conference organized in Abuja on Saturday by the board to address the issue of technicalities in the registration for the 2020 UTME.

The chairman of the board, Oloyede Isa confirmed the suspension and express the commitment of the board to make use of NIN in 2021 UTME registration.

Also, the chairman made it known that the suspension was to give candidates enough time to prepare for the exams due to the technical issues in some registration centres.

The suspension came weeks after the board announced the commencement of 2020 jamb registration.

Recall that in 2019, the board announced the use of NIN for 2020 jamb registration, which according to them was a dragnet to multiple registrations.
