We’ve slapped the US on the face, Iran Says While President Trump Says 'All is Well'

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has described the missile attack on US military bases in Iraq as a slap on America’s face while President Donald Trump of the US exclaimed: "All is Well".

Recall that Iran carried out a ballistic missile attack on US military bases in Iraq to avenge the death of its General, Qasem Soleimani who was killed by US airstrike on Friday, January 3, 2020.

The attack on the US military bases was said to have taken place in Irbil and Al Asad, west of Baghdad.

In a statement confirming Iran of being responsible for the attack, Iran’s Supreme Leader urged the US to withdraw from the region, adding that Iran’s missile attacks on the US were just the beginning of more attacks to follow.

“Military action like this is not sufficient. What is important is ending the corrupting presence of America in the region,” Khamenei said in a televised speech, according to Al Jazeera.

Iranian state television said on Wednesday that at least 80 Americans were killed in the attack, adding that none of the missiles was intercepted.

State TV, citing a senior Revolutionary Guards source, also said Iran had 100 other targets in the region in its sights if Washington took any retaliatory measures.

It also said U.S. helicopters and military equipment were ‘severely damaged.’

But a U.S. military official said there were no immediate reports of American casualties.

In reaction to the attack, President Trump tweeted that the US has the "most powerful and well-equipped military anywhere in the world, by far!"

The president disclosed that Assessment of casualties and damages were still ongoing, adding that he would issue a statement in regards the attack today, Wednesday, January 8, 2020.
